Every Trip Helps Us Evolve

Chapter 10: Taking Responsibility For Your Destiny

You Have Chosen to Remember: A Journey of Self-Awareness, Peace of Mind and Joy by James Blanchard Cisneros.

Everything we are currently experiencing in our lives comes about in order to assist us in evolving to a higher level of consciousness. Even what we now perceive as bad, sad, negative or upsetting is here to assist us in seeing life in a more peaceful, forgiving and loving way. Understand that a great part of the reason we experience things as bad, sad, negative or upsetting is because we have not yet learned to deal with these issues in a more peaceful, forgiving and loving way. Put another way, we are lost because we do not know the way, but once we find our way, the probability of getting lost again is reduced. And it is because we got lost once, we now know the way.

A passage from “The Experiment Hope” by Jurgen Moltmann illustrates that every part of our journey, regardless of its physical manifestation and our perception of that manifestation, can, if we so desire, be experienced with peace, and that gratitude need not wait to be experienced at the journey’s conclusion. Moltmann writes:

32 For more than three years, I was in a prisoner-of-war camp, and I understand something of the language of prisoners, the loneliness and the dreams of the “unhappy”… Hope came to life as the prisoner accepted his imprisonment, affirmed the barbed wire, and in this situation, discovered the real human being in himself and others. It was not at his release, but even while in prison, that the “resurrection from the dead” happened for him.
