Chapter 10: Taking Responsibility For Your Destiny

You can never come closer to God because God is already within you. God is in every moment, and you can come closer to experiencing Him by blessing and being thankful for every moment. God waits for you in every moment. God waits for you in every experience. He waits for you with everlasting patience and love.
In any difficult situation, ask God with all your heart to let you experience Him and He will. You will experience Him not because He is letting you do so, but because you are allowing yourself to experience Him. You do not need His permission to experience Him. You will experience God, because when you so desire, you are shifting your focus from an illusionary state (a difficult situation) to the truth (God). Allowing yourself to experience this in one difficult situation will open your mind to the possibility that you can experience God in all difficult situations. Experiencing God in a difficult situation will turn the challenging situation into an awakening opportunity and gift. During the difficult situation, try to focus on God and His absolute love for you. Allow yourself to feel this absolute love. Let it flow through your body. Let it touch your heart. Realize that God is not there because it is a difficult situation, but because He has always been there. You see it as a difficult situation, but God sees only your growth. In the moment, focus on fear, or focus on God’s love for you. You have free will and it is your choice to make. In the moment, you can focus on one or the other but not both. The choice is yours. Choosing fear will offer you anxiety, stress, confusion, pain and regret. Choosing love will offer you peace of mind and joy. Choose as you will.
God knows that you reach for Him in every moment, every situation, regardless of whether you are conscious of it or not. God knows that every moment, every situation, regardless of how you choose to perceive it, brings you closer to experiencing and remembering your Godself. God blesses all your efforts. Every situation is a gift God offers you to remember your true self. Bless these situations for what they truly are and you will come closer to the realization of who you truly are. My friend, you are a child of God. The child of God can only experience a difficult situation if he or she chooses to. The child of God will experience a difficult situation only if he or she values illusions. The child of God will experience a difficult situation only if he or she misperceives reality.
Imagine, if only for a moment, how much more peace you could experience in your daily existence if you would only allow yourself to see all experiences, both positive and negative, as gifts, regardless of lessons learned. Imagine that instead of constantly analyzing and judging your experiences, you smile and are thankful for having them. My friend, listen carefully, for the beginning of knowledge lies in this simple shift in perception. Imagine a life where, instead of asking “why” or “why me,” you simply trust and say “thank you.” How much more peace and joy would this simple shift in perception bring to your life and to those around you? My dear friend, heaven is indeed available on Earth – now.
