Daily Inspiration: August 20. Reducing Negativity in Our Life

God is Love and All. Thus anytime we are perceiving something as unloving or negative in nature, it is because we are not seeing the opportunity that is being presented to us. God, being Love and All, uses all for good, no matter how we have been programmed by the ego to define our experience. God uses all, to in one way or another, lift our level of consciousness, to help us grow, heal and awaken. If everything in our experience offers us these gifts, then can something ever really be “negative” in the first place? Today, let us practice trying to discover, see and understand, the positive within the so-called negative. Let us learn to see the truth within the illusion, the lesson within the challenge, the light within the darkness. By doing so, we in essence practice trusting in God’s plan more. As we trust God plan more, our sense of certainty, clarity and peace increases. Today, let us practice reducing negativity in our lives, by simply changing our beliefs about its value. When we choose to define something as “negative” – that simply gives it an illusionary power over us. The more power we give to it, the more real it seem to be. The more real it seems to us, the greater part of our life it then becomes. The greater part of our life it becomes, the more we treat it as our truth, as part of us. The more we treat it as our truth, the more willing we are to come to its defense. The more we defend it, the more we will rationalize that it’s real and worth defending. The illusion of negativity has, in and off itself, no real value or power. It is only when we place our focus on it, and charge it with our time and energy, that it gets to affect our lives and the lives of those around us. It is the value we place on negativity, that gives it its power. Take your time, focus and energy away and watch its value and power over you dissolve away before your light and understanding.

We have been programmed to see negativity as just another aspect of our lives. Therefore, being just a “normal part” of everyday life, we don’t consciously choose to question or challenge its false premise. Today, instead of allowing the false concept of negativity to go unchallenged, let us question it and why it is living within us rent free. As we question our negative thinking, let us not put ourselves or others down for believing in the false as true. Let us not think of ourselves or others as not mature or wise enough, simply because we are buying into a fairy tale as real. Let us not look down upon self or others because many may be carrying around some heavy but invisible burdens. Instead, let us open ourselves to the possibility that there is another way to look at our negativity. There is a way to use it that will trigger in us the desire to awaken form the dream and close the book on the ego’s fairy tale. When we see something as negative, let this now become a sign to us that we are delegating our responsibility of our own perception over to the ego. Then, let us recall all of the times we let the ego think and react for us, where that took us, never to a place of joy, peace or understanding. Let us allow our memories to help us see and understand what an unhelpful guide and confidant the ego truly is. When we question the ego’s thinking and mindset, we bring the darkness up into the surface light. It is in alignment with the light, where we can better face, dissect, understand and learn to appreciate the useful nature of each and every moment. When the useful nature of each moment is recognized and understood, our judgments of ourselves and those who were a part of it, turn into gratitude. We become grateful because we realize that they are simply offering us an opportunity to deny what is not real or true about us, and by doing so, we get to more closely align once again with and support the loving truth within.

Negativity is self destructive in nature. Thus, we can only experience for so long before we can sick and tired of its results. When we get sick and tired of its results, it is then that we start looking for a better way. When this awakening occurs, our support for the thoughts that support the negative mindset begins to dissolve away. Once we stop supporting a behavior with our time, focus and energy, it ends. Still, let us not fear looking at our darkness, for it this only helps us see how unlike it is to the loving truth within. Today, let us without hesitation or embarrassment, look at our negative thinking in order to see where it is trying to take us. We are here, as Love’s creations, to create through love. When we look at our negative thinking patterns we can see that they are not moving us in Love’s direction. The more we can realize how little to nothing the negative mindset is bringing us, the less interested we will be in continuing to support it with our time, focus and energy. The less we support this mindset, the sooner it will begin to dissolve from our experience. Now, when some negative thinking pops up, we simply and without hesitation or judgment, remind ourselves that this way of thinking does not lead us to our desired destination. Then let us thank our life experience, that “negative” thinking, for showing and reminding us that it is not with it where we belong. We belong in alignment with God, Love, and so then let us shift our thoughts to those that are in alignment with our mission and purpose. Now, we look at these challenging times in our life with gratitude for helping remind us of who we are not, and in doing so helping us recall who in truth we are. Now, when a  negative thought pops up, it simply becomes a call to action. A call to forgive or let go of what was never true about us, consciously recall and align with our loving nature, and then share who in truth we are with all others.

Today, if negative thoughts seem to be ruling over us, let us stop this line of thinking. Let us recognize that we are in a state of mind that does not represent the truth in us, our loving nature. Understanding this, let us starve these negative thoughts of their energy by ending the time and focus we dedicate to them. Let us then use the time that we have reclaimed from our negative thinking and fill it with the loving thoughts that represent the truth in us. As we continue to invest more of our time, focus, energy into these loving thoughts, we strengthen and reinforce our connection to God who is Love. The more our connection to God is strengthen and reinforced, the more worthy we will feel of His Love and presence, and thus the less need we will have for negative thoughts and thinking.
