The present moment
is God’s eternal gift to us.
The present moment simply is.
It is free from past judgments and future imaginings.
The present moment is our true home on Earth.
If we are not in the present moment, we are lost.
We call a foreign place home and wonder why we feel lost and alone.
We extend our past into the present,
creating a future like our past,
never really experience the present,
and still question why we don't understand what is going on.
We look at people, call them strangers instead of brothers and sisters
and still speculate as to why we live in fear.
When we are in the present moment,
fear, judgment and worry disappear
and love, peace and compassion become our companions.
When we are in the present moment,
we see our brothers and sisters as God’s perfect creations.
We look into their eyes and see ourselves reflected in them.
If in the moment, you see your brother or sister as something other than
God’s perfect creation, know that you are veiling the present moment
with your past judgments.
When enough veils are placed on top of each other,
they become as thick as a wall
and obscure the light of truth.
Allow the simplicity and truth of the moment to manifest
itself,
or choose to replace it with the complexity and confusion of what you
think you wish to see. This is the one choice you make in every moment.
Simply lay aside all of your past judgments
and God will offer you the eternal present moment.
As you recognize the present moment as God’s gift,
you replace your judgment of it
with gratitude.
You need only do this once and
you will want no other way.
The present moment is perfect
and this simple recognition is all that is asked of you
in order for you to experience its perfection.
It is a simple shift from covering the present with past judgments,
to one of being grateful for and in the now,
having faith, and allowing what is to be.
This rediscovery -
that you do not need to add or subtract or judge the present moment,
will offer you great freedom and peace.
And gratitude will become your response
to the offering of freedom and peace.
Imagine
living in the moment…
how much more peace you could have in your daily existence if you would
only allow yourself to see all experiences - both "positive" and
"negative" - as gifts.
Imagine living in
the moment…
and instead of constantly analyzing and judging your experiences,
you simply smile and are grateful for having them.
My friend, listen
carefully,
for the beginning
of conscious awakening lies in this simple shift in perception.
Imagine living in
the moment…
a life where, instead of asking "why" or "why me,"
you simply trust, and say "thank you."
How much more peace
and joy would this simple shift in perception bring to your life and to
those around you?
Enjoy the present
moment. Enjoy God's eternal gift to you.
