Today, let us put the ego’s materialization of Christmas aside. Instead, let us see Christmas as a time to increase how much gratitude and peace we feel and can offer to each other. Let us no longer view Christmas as a time of consumption and chaos. Instead, let us redefine it as a time to offer gratitude and peace to everyone we think of and interact with. Before and during each interaction we have this holiday season, let us stop and recall our goal. We are here to offer gratitude and a sense of peace to everyone we interact with. This will be the true Christmas gift that we offer to everyone. If chaos-inducing thoughts of the holiday season arise, simply pause that line of thinking and allow it to trigger you to recall your goal. By doing so, gratitude and peace will be your constant companions this holiday season.
Today, let us become the gifts to each other that God created us to be. We can do so by first remembering that we can choose our thoughts, words, emotions and actions. Then let us choose to consciously walk hand in hand with gratitude and peace. Now when we notice the ego trying to take control with thoughts of anxiousness, worry or fear, we stop this line of thinking, and take back control of our mind by consciously choosing thoughts that will lead us to feel and share peace and gratitude. When we do this, we become a gift to others, an example that we can choose gratitude over worry and thus peace over pain. We become a beacon of light to those who may be feeling anxious, exhausted and lost at this time of year. Now all those we think of and meet become gifts to us. They show us (by the way we treat them) whether we or the ego are in control of our own mind, and whether we truly understand the Christmas season.
All glory to God.
