Blame, bitterness and anger are the ego’s solutions to blame, bitterness and anger. The ego’s solutions only seem sane in an insane world. If you think of another person, and blame, bitterness and anger flow through your heart and mind, these thoughts hurt and punish you. When you start to value forgiveness, peace of mind and joy more than self-inflicted pain, poison and punishment, you will start to do the opposite of what the ego demands. If you want to feel the opposite of how the ego makes you feel, then do the opposite of what it wants. When those who seem to make you bitter and angry come to mind, offer them your forgiveness and compassion instead. Then pray for their health, happiness, peace of mind and awakening.
Today, if thoughts of bitterness and anger enter your mind, recall that such thoughts take you no where you want to be. Knowing this, you can end your support of them. You end our support by taking away the time, focus and energy that you have been investing in their survival. The moment you decide to stop supporting them is the moment they will begin to dissolve from your life. You can then use this opening to put your time, focus and energy into thoughts that will bring you the peace of mind and joy you want. Today, use compassionate and forgiving thoughts to replace bitterness and anger. Now, when bitter and angry thoughts come to mind, practice replacing them with compassionate and forgiving thoughts until these become your natural responses.
