Daily Inspiration: August 20. Reducing Negativity in Our Life
God is Love and All, and so if all that in truth exist is Love, then anytime we are perceiving something as “negative”, it is because we are simply misperceiving the value of what we are experiencing. God being Love and All, uses all, no matter how we have been programmed by the ego to view our experience, for good. God uses all, to in one way or another, lift our level of consciousness, to help us grow, heal and awaken. If everything in our experience offers us these gifts, then is something ever really “negative” in the first place? And so today, let us practice trying to see, discover and understand, the positive within the so-called negative, the truth within the illusion, the lesson within the challenge, the light within the darkness. By doing so, we are unconsciously practicing trusting in God’s plan more, and by doing so, we are gifting ourselves a greater sense of certainty, clarity and peace. Today, let us practice reducing negativity in our lives, by changing our beliefs about its value. When we choose to define something as “negative” – that simply gives it an illusionary power over us. The more power we give to it, the more real it seems to be. The more real it seems to us; the greater part of our life it then becomes. The greater part of our life it becomes, the more we treat it as our truth, as us. The more we treat it as our truth, the more willing we are to come to its defense. The more time and energy we spend defending it, the more we will rationalize to ourselves that it’s real and worth defending. The illusion of negativity has, in and off itself, no real power, it is only when we place our focus on it, and charge it with our time and energy, that it gets to affect our lives and the lives of those around us. It is the value that we place on negativity that gives it its power, not that so-called negativity in and off itself. In the end, it is what we choose to value in any situation, that we will end up focusing on and experiencing.
We have been programmed to see negativity as just another aspect of our lives. Therefore, being just another part of life, we don’t consciously choose to question or challenge these false concepts. Today, instead of allowing the false concept of negativity to go unchallenged, let us question why negative thinking and perception, seem to so comfortably live within us rent free. As we question our negative thinking, let us not put ourselves or others down for believing in the false as true. Let us not think of ourselves or others as not mature or wise enough, simply because we are buying into a fairy tale as real. Instead, let us come to an understanding, and open ourselves to the possibility, that there is another way to look at our negativity, that can align us more with the clarity, wisdom and peace of God. Let us become consciously aware that when we perceive the result of our experience to be negative, this is simply a symbol that we are delegating our responsibility of our perception, over to the ego. Then, let us recall, all of the times that we let the ego think and react for us, where that took us, never to a place of joy, peace or understanding. Let us allow our memories of this unholy partnership with the ego, help us see and understand, what an unhelpful guide and confidant, it truly is. When we question the ego’s thinking and mindset, we bring the darkness up into the light. It is in alignment with the light, where we can better see and understand, the useful nature of each and every moment. When the useful nature of each moment is recognized and understood, our judgments of ourselves and those who were a part of it, turn into gratitude for their assistance and participation, in our growth.
We can only be consciously aware of a negative behavior that we are supporting, and see it manifest over and over again in our life for so long, before we finally get that this behavior is getting us nowhere. When this awakening occurs, our support for the thoughts that support this behavior, begins to die off. Once we stop supporting a behavior with our time and energy, it ends. We are Light’s creation, and so it is useful to look upon our so-called darkness, in order to truly see and realize how unlike it is to the truth in us. Today, let us proudly and without hesitation or embarrassment, look at our negative thinking directly, in order to truly see what it is doing to us. Then let us recall, that because we are Love’s creation and Love is All, negativity can only exist within our minds, as long as we think that there is an opposite to All, as long as we fail to see the value in each and every moment that is presented to us by God. The more we can be consciously aware of how truly little to nothing, the negative mindset is bringing us, the less interested we will be in continuing to support it with our time, focus and energy. The less we support this mindset, the sooner it will begin to dissolve from our experience. Now, when some negative thinking pops up, we simply and without hesitation or judgment, remind ourselves that there is truly no opposite to All, and that God uses all for good. In doing so, we begin to offer gratitude, the opposite of what we once offered, to our “negative” experience, for helping us practice choosing and valuing God more than the ego, and by doing so, choosing understanding and peace over our misperceptions and pain. Looking back, we no longer curse our negative mindset, the ego’s programming, instead we will look at it, and thank it for helping us become consciously aware of who we are not, and by doing so, helping us remember who we truly are. Now, all negative thinking simply becomes, a call to action, a call to overlook or let go of what is not true, recall our true nature, and consciously share who in truth we are with others.
Today, when negative thoughts seem to be ruling over us, let us not continue to feed them by thinking that we are not wise, good or spiritual enough for thinking such thoughts. Instead, let us use them to trigger in us, the desire to trust God more. Let us use them to help remind us that God is Love and All, and so all our experiences, will be used by God, for our good, to help us grow, heal and awaken. Let us also use our awareness of this negative mindset to remind us, that our thoughts should not be ruling over us, that we should be ruling over our thoughts. Imagine, if you began to shift your perception in regards to negativity, to one that says that it is in our lives to help us, learn to take back control of our own minds, and to trust God more. If there was something or someone who was helping you achieve greater control over your mind and have a closer conscious union with God, would you not be grateful to them? And so today let us be grateful to our negativity, for helping us remember our true power over our minds, and our eternal connection to our Source.
