Daily Inspiration: July 6. Becoming Less Judgmental of Your Past

You are who you are today, because of your past. Today, when we think about our past and past-self, let us recognize, all the trials and tribulations that he or she had to go through, in order to make our present-self, the more self-aware and compassionate being that he or she is today. When you begin to look at and think of your past-self in this manner, as just a brother or sister, who helped you all along your journey, would you not start to look upon him or her with gratitude instead of judgment? Is your past-self not worthy of your present-self’s praise and appreciation? When you look at your past-self in this more loving, compassionate and understanding manner, then you will begin to also look at your past this way, for now you know that it was because of it and the experiences and interactions that it provided, that has lifted you to this higher level of consciousness. When you realize, all that your past has provided for you, you will begin to judge it less and appreciated it more. Now that you have a better understanding of not only your past-self, but also of your past, you can now begin to appreciate all those others people who were a part of your past. For they too have been a very necessary part in helping you developed into this wiser, more self-aware and compassionate being. It has been their interactions with you that have provided the fuel for your growth. Sure, at the time you interacted with them, maybe those interactions did not go as smoothly or lovingly as you would have hoped. But every step along the way, it is they, through their interactions with you, who have provided the life lessons, and the opportunities for growth and healing. It is all our experiences, that we have used to guide us to a more joyful and peaceful place within our hearts and minds.

We are here to deliver the message of love. But to deliver such a message we must first understand that it was intended for us first, to learn, and then to share. It is our past and our experience, that have strengthen us to the point that we now have the ability to better communicate and share the message. The obstacles that we have overcome, the times we failed to forgive and carried the heavy burdens of our judgments, the times we stressed out and worried about so many things, all these trials, and how we overcame these trials, will become the vehicles that we use to deliver the message, to those who are now going through, what we went through and overcame. It will be because of how we tell our stories, that those in the trenches of the ego’s world, will recognize that we too were once in those same trenches, but also that we found our way out and back onto solid peaceful ground. When you see that others are able to heal and come to a place of peace because you were able to clearly communicate the message, it will be then that you will begin to realize the gift that your past and its challenges were. These challenges that in the past you curse yourself and others for, are now, thanks to the gift of time, seen as the teaching tools that they in truth are. It is when you start using your relationship with the past, not to judge self and others, but instead to help this planet heal, that you will begin to conceptualize God’s wisdom. God being perfect Love, only has your best interest in mind. You may at the time not realize it, but sooner or later, you will start to see how every step along the sacred path that you have co-created with God, is being use, to help you and this planet heal and awaken.

Through trial and error we grow. We can be unaware of this gift, and experience our trails and errors with judgment and pain, or we can understand, that everything we experience is here to serve us and this planet, and thus become appreciative and understanding of our so-called trials and errors. If our life experience, trials and errors, help us grow, heal and awaken, then can they ever, when properly defined, be bad? Should we really be condemning ourselves and others for experiencing life, or should we start being more trusting of God and appreciative that Perfect Love has co-created our journeys with us. When properly perceived and used, every moment of our past, present and future, is a gift from God to us. When we realize this, our minds will align with peace, and they will carry this peace within them where ever they go. If we have yet to fully recognize the gifts of the past, let us not continue to support the ego’s mindset that has us carry our past with judgment, anger and resentment, for what good has that ever truly done? Instead, let us take this temporal lack of self-awareness about what a gift each and every step along our way is, and use such situations as opportunities to practice increasing our levels of trust in God. What do we truly have to lose by trusting God more? What do we truly have to lose by supporting a mindset that says: “Ok, I am not yet able to recognize each part of my past as the gift that it was, but, today and every day forth, I am going to remind myself that God being perfect Love only Loves me, and that Love has no need for judgment, suffering and pain. If perfect Love has no need for judgment, suffering and pain, then why should I? Today, through forgiveness, I release the misperceptions that I hold of myself and others, and instead choose to trust God with my life, knowing that as His child, He desire me have and share, only beauty, peace, love, joy and understanding.”

Today, let us practice being a bit more gentle, compassionate, forgiving and understanding, towards our past-self, for without him or her, our present-self would not be as open, self-aware and compassionate. Today, let us also be grateful to our past, and to all those who allow us, through their participation in our life, the opportunities to share and thus increase our levels of self-awareness, compassion, peace and understanding. The more we understand how much we have grown and matured thanks to our past, the less judgmental we will be of it and of ourselves. The more we understand the useful nature of our past, the more at peace we will be with it, and those who were a part of it. The more at peace we are with our past and those in it, the easier it will be for us to forgive all those judgments of self and others that we once held so dear. The less judgments that we are holding unto, the more at peace we will be, the more peace we will have, to share with others, and the more aligned with the Mind of God we will be.

I had just awoken from a dream in which I was harshly judging myself and hurting from my past choices. I woke up with that same sentiment. What a gift to read this daily inspiration before getting out of bed! Miracles do happen.

Thank you Jill for being open to the message and a part of our community. Peace. JBC
