Daily Inspiration: July 6. Becoming Less Judgmental of Your Past

Who we are today is because of our past. Today, when we think about our past and past-self, let us do so with kindness and appreciation. Let us recognize all the trials and tribulations that he or she had to go through in order to make our present-self, the more self-aware and compassionate being that we are today. When we begin to look at and think of our past-self in this manner, as someone who helped us along our journey, would gratitude not begin to replace our past judgments? Is our past-self not worthy of our present-self’s appreciation? When we look at our past-self in this more loving, compassionate and understanding manner, then we will also begin to look at our past in this same manner. Now we know that it was because of it, and the experiences and interactions that it provided us, that has helped lift us to a higher level of consciousness. When we realize all that our past has done for us, we will begin to judge it less and appreciated it more. Now, we have a better understanding of not only our past-self, but also of our past. Now, we can begin to appreciate all those other people who were a part of our past. They too have played a necessary part in helping us developed into these wiser, more self-aware and compassionate beings. It has been our interactions with them that have provided us the fuel for our growth. Sure, at the time we interacted with them, maybe those interactions did not go as smoothly or lovingly as we would have liked. But every step along the way, it is they, through their interactions with us, who have provided us the life experience, lessons, and opportunities for growth and healing. It is all our experiences put together that we are now using to help guide us to a more joyful and peaceful place within our hearts and minds.

We are here to deliver the message of love. But to deliver such a message we must first understand that it was intended for us first to learn and then to share. It is our past experiences that have helped develop us to the point where we can now better communicate and share the message of love. The trials and obstacles that we have overcome, and how we overcame them, will become the teaching tools we will use to deliver the message. Those now going through what we went through will listen to what we have to say, because in our stories they will recognize their own. In our victories, they will find their hope. In hearing our stories, those now in the trenches of the ego’s battlefields will look up to us to help them find a better way out of the chaos and into the state of peace. You will then see others begin to heal due to the message you share. It will be then that you will begin to see and understand the gift that your past and its challenges provided. These trial and challenges that in the past you cursed yourself and others for, are now, thanks to the gift of time, seen as the teaching tools that they in truth always were. It is when you start using your relationship to your past, not to judge self and others, but instead to help this planet heal, that you will begin to be better able to conceptualize the wisdom of God’s plan. God being perfect Love, only has your best interest in mind. You might at the time not realized it, but sooner or later you will start to see and understand how every step along your sacred path is used by God for good. God is Perfection, and thus the path you have co-design with Him must be perfect for you. Trust this truth to be true, and become a beacon of peace for others.

Through trial and error we grow. At the time they occur, we can be unaware of this gift of growth, and experience our trials and errors with judgment and pain. Yet equally so, we can trust and realize that everything we experience is here to help us and this planet grow, heal and awaken. When we begin to see our experiences in this manner, we become appreciative and understanding of our so-called trials and errors. If our life experience, trials and errors, help us grow, heal and awaken, then can they ever, when properly defined, be bad? We can condemn ourselves and others for what life seems to send our way. Yet equally so, we can use such experience to develop a greater trust and appreciation for God and for the journey we have co-designed with Him. When properly perceived, every moment of our past, present and future, is a gift from God to us. When we realize this, peace results. When we realize this, we will become a beacon of peace for others. Today, let us no longer support the ego’s mindset, a way of thinking that has never supported us. Let us no longer carry our past with judgment, anger and resentment, for what good has that ever done? Let us instead develop a greater trust in God by being grateful, not judgmental, of whatever life sent and sends our way. What do we have to lose by trusting God more? Today, let us support a mindset that says: “Ok, I am not yet able to recognize each part of my past as the gift that it was. But, today and every day forth, I am going to remind myself that God being Perfect Love only loves me and has my best interest in mind. Perfect Love has no need for judgment, punishment, suffering or pain. If Perfect Love has no need for judgment, suffering, punishment or pain, then why should I? Today, through forgiveness, I release the misperceptions that I hold of my past. Today, I choose to fully trust God, Perfect Love, with my life. Today, I recall that I am His child and that we are all One, all forever worthy of the Peace and Joy of God.”

Today, let us practice being more gentle, compassionate, forgiving and understanding with our past-self. Let us recognize that without our past-self, our present-self would not be as open, self-aware, wise and compassionate. Let us also be grateful to all those who participated in our past for helping awaken us to who we we truly are. The more we understand how much we have grown and matured thanks to our past, the less judgmental we will be of it, ourselves, and those from it. The less judgmental we are of it, the more peace we will feel towards it. The more at peace we are with our past and those in it, the easier it will be for us to forgive all those judgments of self and others that we once held so dear. The more at peace we are, the greater beacons of peace we can become for others.

I had just awoken from a dream in which I was harshly judging myself and hurting from my past choices. I woke up with that same sentiment. What a gift to read this daily inspiration before getting out of bed! Miracles do happen.

Thank you Jill for being open to the message.

Every day that you choose to forgive instead of judge, you become a miracle in someone else’s life.

Peace. JBC
