Daily Inspiration: October 25. “Negative” Emotions Do Not Make Us Less Spiritual

The only emotions we can truly heal, are those we allow ourselves to feel. Today, let us give ourselves permission to feel ‘negative’ emotions, without being made to feel wrong, bad or less than, for doing so. Let us do this, not with the intent to hurt others, but to heal ourselves. When we become examples to others, that those who hurt can heal, we light the path of hope, for those who are currently finding it too dark to see. By doing so, we help them find their way back home to the state of peace. We are here, together, to work through these emotions, that are currently blocking our awareness to the state of peace. Let us use these negative emotions, not to judge others or ourselves, but to help clarify the beliefs, that are blocking our awareness and connection to, the loving truth within. Once we bring our emotions to the surface, it will be this uncovering, that will open us to better understanding them, and thus to healing ourselves. This process of healing, helps us figure out, that these negative emotions do not result from what others do, but from how we interpret what they do. The more we believe this false interpretation as true, the more real we make it, and the bigger part of our lives it becomes. We are thus in essence, robbing our own peace of mind. Today, when we are not at peace, let us no  longer blame others for this, instead let us simply realize that we are misinterpreting the present moment. The present moment is God’s eternal gift to us, and when we are aligned with this understanding, peace results. God being Love and All, could only have our best interest in mind, and thus every moment, when properly perceived, is here for our good, for our growth, healing and awakening. Understanding this we realize, that all others are here for us, as a perfect and sacred part of our awakening process. They are helping us, through their participation in our experience, bring up these false concepts, beliefs and negative emotions, that in truth do not belong within us, to the surface, so that they can be looked at, processed and healed.

Today, let us understand, that it is our whole life experience, even the so-called negative emotions, that are helping us become, better teachers of peace. It is by living through and overcoming our hurdles, that we will be better able to teach others, how to overcome their own darkness and return into alignment with the light. Today, let us remember, that only because the ego’s world defines something as a ‘bad’ or ‘negative’, does not make it bad or wrong. Good, bad, right, wrong, all these emotions provide different perspectives, learning opportunities, lessons learned and wisdom, for different people in different ways. When we trust that everything, because God is Love and All, can be and is of use, peace results. Today, let us trust God, and no longer use so-called negative emotions to separate us from each other. If separation is your end result, know that somewhere you have bought into the chaos of the ego’s judgment filled mindset. If peace and unity result, know that you have aligned with the thinking and Oneness of your Creator. Understanding every moment and emotion, as a perfect part of the sacred journey that you have co-created with God, is a sign of one who has or is in the process of, awakening. Negative emotions seem to be negative, not because they are in truth negative, but because the ego has programmed us to define them as such. Aligned with God’s wisdom and understanding, all, every single one of your emotions, even the so-called negative ones, are in the end, useful and used for good. They are used to help release us from the ego’s programming and mindset, and return us to being at One with, and appreciative of, everyone and all.

Today, let us practice releasing our attachments to the false concepts, that if we feel, experience, or ‘act’ on our negative emotions, that this somehow makes us bad or less spiritual. We have co-created our journey with Love, thus today let us recall that our path, no matter how the ego has programmed us to see it, is sacred, and a blessing not only to us, but also to everyone. Your path is no more sacred than theirs, and their paths are no more sacred than yours. Each path is a perfect individualized co-creation with God. The sooner we realize this, the sooner we will begin to let go of false concepts that keep us attached to the ego’s mindset and view of the world.  Once we start to recognize the sacred nature of each one of our journeys, what use will we have to judge ourselves as less than others, or others as less than us? What use will we have for any sort of judgment, negative emotion or thinking? Today, let us practice offering gratitude for every single one of our emotions and experiences. Let us do so with the understanding that each one is helping us become a more complete, compassionate and healed, expression of our Creator. God uses all for good, and thus we, as His creations, let us practice doing the same. Today, be patient with yourself and others, knowing that all experiences are here for the betterment of all mankind. Today, consciously reinforce that every part of you, even those parts the ego has programmed you to think of as not good, bad, negative or unworthy, they are all in reality, a sacred and perfect part of you and of your journey. You are here on this planet to express everything about you, not to hide in the ego’s shadows in fear of judgment. You are God’s sacred creation, all of you, His creation, is His gift to this planet. Not just parts of you, all of you. All of you is sacred and good.

Today, when you start to notice that your ego wants you to judge yourself or another for experiencing or expressing so-called negative emotions, consider doing the following: First, consciously stop yourself from putting any more of your time and energy into supporting this thinking pattern. Second, remind yourself that you have co-created your journey with God, and thus that each step of it is sacred and will be used for good. Third, forgive your judgments and misperceptions of self and others. Fourth, remind yourself, that God is perfect, only creates perfectly, you are His creation, and we are all One. Fifth, practice trusting that because God is Love and All, that all our experiences and emotions, will be used to help us all grow, heal and awaken. Sixth, remind yourself, that if everything that we think and experience is used for our good, what need do we really have for judgment or negative emotions? Seventh, let us unite in the understanding that each and every one of our journeys has a sacred purpose, and that this world is better off because we, each one of us, is here.

One of my great inspirations is Abraham Lincoln. He was weighed down by depression and despair. His melancholy forged a strength of soul from looking at troubling reality straight in the eye. His hard work over a rough road fueled his greatness developing crucial skills and capacities which enabled him to lead a country through a dark night. It inspires continually like Robert Frost wrote poetically: The tree the tempest with a crash of wood Throws down in front of us is not to bar Our passage to our journey’s end for good But just to ask us who we think we are.

Thank you Jen for your lovely insightful comment and for being a member of our community. Peace. JBC
