Daily Inspiration: July 28. The Power of Checking in on Yourself Throughout the Day

When in despair, remember that every single moment allows you the opportunity to begin anew. Today, throughout your day, return to the now and ask yourself: “What kind of day am I creating – through the thoughts that I am thinking? Are the thoughts, words, feelings, emotions, actions, reactions and interactions that I am focusing on and supporting the ones that are assisting me in creating the day I want?” In doing so we begin to accept personal responsibility for our creation. It is we who decide where we will place our time, focus and energy. It is we who are responsible for our experience. Let us also take personal responsibility for removing our support, time, focus and energy from the thoughts that are not helping us create the day we want. When you begin to recognize that it is you who is deciding what to think and how to act and react, it is then that you will stop blaming the outside world and those in it for the day you are having. It is then that you will start searching inwardly for solutions and healing. Anytime you find yourself not having the day you want, just stop and remind yourself: “This is not the kind of day I want. I now choose to stop this way of thinking, talking and behaving, and return to aligning my thoughts, words and actions with the kind of day I want. I have control over my thoughts, words and actions. I no longer choose to blame others for what is in my control. By no longer blaming others, I no longer remain a slave to the outer world. I now know that I am personally responsible for the kind of day I experience. I now know that I am the captain of my ship. Now, the destination I arrive to, will simply be a result of which thoughts I choose to focus on, think and entertain. Now, the creation of the world that through my mind I experience, is fully in my hands.”

How many days of our lives have we unconsciously acted like zombies, staggering our way through them without even checking in on how we were feeling? How many times have we just stop to ask ourselves what kind of day we were through our own thoughts creating? How many of our days did we find ourselves simply unconsciously using the ego’s tools of judgment, anger and resentment, and told ourselves: “Well, I guess this is just the way life is, nothing I can really do about it.” How many days of our lives have we consciously dedicated to bringing more peace and joy to the world? Every day offers a new opportunity to dedicate yourself to making the world a brighter place. What if, when we woke up in the morning we said something to ourselves like this: “Thank you God for the opportunity of a brand new day! Today, I will show my gratitude to You by dedicating my day to bringing greater peace and joy to our world. Today, I am going to be extra conscious to bring peace and joy to all those who You place along my path. I am going to stop every hour, and center myself in order to remind myself of today’s goal. Before every encounter I will remind myself that this day, I am here, sent by God, to bring peace and joy to His children’s lives. Their greater peace of mind and joy will signal to me my victory over the ego’s delusional mindset and world. Father, being all One, I know that when I help bring peace and joy to any of your children, that You Yourself rejoice. When I know that You rejoice because of my actions, it will be I who will be lifted and blessed by joy. Thank you God for the opportunities that I have today to bring peace and joy to your children. Thank you God for entrusting me with your creation. Amen.”

Today, let us take personal responsibility for checking in on ourselves. Our goal during this check in is to replace any of our chaotic thoughts with peaceful thoughts. Any anxious and stress filled thoughts will now be replaced with the decision to trust God more. Then let us be grateful to God for helping us become self-aware enough to be able to shift and lift our internal dialogue. The choice to focus on the thoughts that support chaos or peace, worry or trust, are now ours and ours alone to make. It is our minds that focus on and entertain the thoughts we think. It is we who must make the choice of which thoughts we allow into our minds. You feed a mindset by giving it your time, focus and energy. Today, when you find yourself in a chaotic or stressful state of mind, stop and choose to no longer feed and thus fuel this delusional mindset. But still, do not judge yourself or others if you once again find yourself falling into the ego’s pit. Instead, stop and take that moment to ask yourself: “What kind of day do I want to create and thus experience?” Remind yourself, that it is you who are responsible for the kind of day you have. Remind yourself, that today it is you who are responsible for checking in on yourself. Then, align your mind with the Mind of God. Breathe deeply, just breathe deeply. Breathe in God’s love for you, and breathe out all your judgments, stresses and worries. Do this for a minute or two. Then say to God: “I now choose You. I now choose Love over fear. I now choose Your trust and peace over my stresses and worries. I now choose Your forgiveness over my judgments. I now place in Your hands and let go of all of my judgments, stresses and worries. I now know that no matter what dreams I may be dreaming, that Your Love for me is absolute. I will now choose to trust in You completely and wholeheartedly. By doing so, I replace my chaos with Your peace. By doing so, I now become a representative and reflection of You, of Peace on Earth. Thank you God. Amen.”

Today, as often as we can remember to do so, let us take a moment for ourselves to see how we are doing. During those moments, let us recall that it is we who are responsible for the thoughts we think. If the thoughts we are thinking are not bringing us the day we want, then it is we who can change our internal dialogue. If we are having anxious thoughts, then let us take that moment to practice trusting God more. If we are having judgmental thoughts, then let us take that moment to replace them with forgiving thoughts. If thoughts of anger seem to want to consume us, let us stop and use that moment to develop greater compassion, peace and understanding. By continuing to check in on ourselves throughout the day, we get to reshape our thoughts so that they can better help us design the day we desire.

Thank you Sharon for your kind words and for being open to the message.

Any moment during your day, when judgment of self or others tries to enter your mind, stop such thoughts. Recall, that it is you who controls which thoughts you allow into your mind and entertain with your time, focus and energy. Then join God’s mind by offering the most loving thoughts that can best serve that moment and those who are participating in it.

Today, anytime the darkness comes calling, simply be the light that you were created to be. Shine bright for all to see.

All glory to God.

Peace. JBC
