Daily Inspiration: June 29. Making the Conscious Choice to Use Free Will
Today, let us practice using God’s gift of free will, to help remind us, that we have a lot more control over how we view and experience our external environment, then we have been taught to believe. For example, if we wish we were a more forgiving person, let us through free will make the conscious choice to make forgiveness our constant companion throughout the day. Before any interaction we have, let us remind ourselves that our goal is to be aligned with the state of forgiveness, and say to ourselves: “Today, forgiveness will be my constant companion. Today, forgiveness is my goal for this and every interaction.” By doing so, we go into the interaction with our goal already set. By setting up the goal for our interactions, before they occur, we are training ourselves to be proactive instead of reactive. It is by being and remaining proactive, that we remind ourselves that it is we who are in control of our thoughts, words, actions and reactions, and not the outer world or those in it. The more we practice using free will to lead us to our desired outcome, the more naturally proactive we become, the less we will feel like victims to this world and those in it. Our feeling victimized, or having a lack of control over the world that we see and interact with, is then understood as, not a function of what is occurring somewhere out there, but as a function of how much we ourselves have decided to take an active role in shaping our experience. The ego, through the act of judgment, will desire to dictate what our response should be to the external environment, but today it is we through forgiveness, who start taking personal responsibility for how we perceive and interact with this world. It is now we, who have control over the world we see. It is now we, who control our levels of peace or pain. It is now we, who through our use of free will, set ourselves free, or though our choice not to use it, keep ourselves imprison to the ego’s programs and demands.
How much of our life have we, unconsciously as it may have been, allowed the outer world to dictate our thinking, and thus rule over our minds and lives? Any time we are focusing on the ego tools, such as those of judgment of self and others, anxiousness, anger, resentment, hate and revenge, we are not really in conscious control of our own thinking, we are simply acting and reacting how the ego has programmed us to act and react. We are basically zombies when we are buying into and supporting the ego’s mindset, and thus its world as real. We think we are reacting as we want to react, but we are not, we are reacting how we have been programmed to react. We are robots, programmed to react in way “a” to situation “a” and way “b” to situation “b,” with no real understanding of who we truly are, want, or desire to be. If you are reacting to anger with anger, to resentment with resentment and to revenge with revenge, you are simply following the ego’s programs. It is your past programming, not you, who is living your life. Your true self has been covered over with your past programming, and it is in this disguise, that ‘you’ are acting as you have been trained to act. You may now be a wonderful actor, but are you truly happy, joyful, forgiving, loving and at peace? Ask yourself, which do you desire more, the plastic trophies, paper strips and metal disks, that you receive from your great acting skills, or the peace of mind, love and joy of God? Do you desire the personal conflicts where you can show off your false power, or do you desire the peace of God? Do you desire to continue to walk blindly through the ego’s darkness, confusion and chaos, or do you desire to merge with the light, and receive the clarity and understanding, that aligning with your loving nature brings?
Today, let us practice using our interactions with others, to help take us, from the ego’s unconscious reactionary state, to a more conscious proactive state. It is in the proactive state, where the understanding and use of free will becomes the catalyst for what kind of day we experience. Imagine, starting to actually reinforce within your mind, that you actually have the power to shape and experience what kind of day you want. Imagine, remembering that as God/Love creations, we are worthy of experiencing all that Love has to offer. So yes, forgiveness as an expression of Love, is something we are indeed not only worthy of, but also something that we ourselves, through free will, can proactively embrace, create, expand and become examples of. As God’s creations we are worthy of experiencing a world where love and all of its expressions, such as those of forgiveness, compassion, kindness, peace and joy, can through free will, by being proactive, be focus on, supported, created, experienced, enjoyed and shared. It is we, not the outer world, who when we focus on Love and Its expressions as our goal, can make them a greater part of our day, and thus of our life. Today, let us consciously and proactively, take greater personal responsibility for the goals, the companions that we choose to spend this day with, and acknowledge that the manifestations of our interactions with others, are simply a reflection of this conscious choice. Today, let us through free will, begin to build a world whose ground is nurtured by forgiveness, love and compassion, so that our children may one day harvest and be nourished by, the conscious choices that we are now, choosing to make.
Today, let us become more consciously aware, that there is who we are, and who we have programmed to be. When we are being who in truth we are, we are free. When we are being who we have been programmed to be, we have a false freedom, and are actually just acting out the ego’s mindset. Who we are, is the Love that God is. When we align with this Love, and choose any of its expressions, such as those of compassion, forgiveness, peace and joy, this is us being who in truth we are, this is us actually free to choose what we desire to experience, this is us having free will. When we align with the ego’s mindset and use its tools, such as those of judgment, anger, resentment and revenge, these are actually programs that we have bought into, patterns that we unconsciously repeat, just because we have bought into the ego’s lies as true. When you are using the ego’s mindset, you are unconscious, allowing the ego to live your life for you, and thus a lack of freedom and fulfillment is felt. Once you start to notice that giving your life away to the ego to live for you, is not truly living, is not what you truly want, that is when you will begin to look for a better way, a way to let go of your past programs, align with the now, with your loving nature, and become who you truly desire to be.
