Daily Inspiration: May 20. The Illusionary Snake Within

The snake uses its venom because it knows no other way. We are so used to the poison we carry within, that we now think we are immune to it. Regardless of how comfortable we might have convinced ourselves that we are, we were not created to carry poison nor poison each other. When we attack and spew venom, be it through thought, word or action, know that because we are all One, it is our own peace of mind and joy that we are endangering. Being judgmental, angry, anxious, resentful and hateful, are all symbols of the poisons we still carry within. None of these are expressions of our loving nature. All that in truth flows through Love is love. All that Love is here to offer, is love. Anytime we are not being or offering love, such as through compassion, joy, peace, forgiveness and understanding, we are being who we are not. We are buying into the illusionary snake within us as real. Still, do not despair, for in truth you can never be anything other than the love that God created you to be. It is only when you are asleep to the truth in you, and buying into the ego’s dream as real, that you could ever think that you could take on the characteristics of a snake. You do not need to punish nor condemn yourself as not awake, wise, spiritual or good enough, for simply temporarily buying into a dream as real. Instead, now practice catching yourself when you are dreaming, and begin to awaken. Anytime you feel the need to judge self or other, become anxious or are angered by one of God’s creations, let this show you when you are dreaming. Let this awaken in you the desire to let go of who you in truth are not, and return to being who in truth you are. Awaken by simply offering to others the opposite of what the dream or snake demands. When the snake is angry, offer to others forgiveness. When it is anxious, see it as an opportunity to increase your trust in God. Do so, and the snake in you will begin to slither back into the nothingness from which it came.

Every single word or action begins as a thought within our mind. Thus, in order to strike, that thought must first flow through us. Be it kind or unkind, thoughtful or thoughtless, it is we who host and experience every thought we think of and express. Regardless how destructive our illusionary thoughts may be, no matter how natural they may sometimes feel, they are not the truth in us. Such thoughts are simply what the ego has programmed us to believe that we are. Yet do not despair, for the more we use them, the more we will realize how out of alignment these false concepts are with the truth in us. Today, let us acknowledge to ourselves, that whatever we serve to our brothers and sisters, is housed within us. If we are allowing judgment, anxiousness, anger and resentment, to be housed within us, then let us also realize that we always end up reaping what we sow. Your body and mind are your home, your temple. It must be you, as the owner of your temple, who kicks out those thoughts that you no longer want living within. You kick them out by no longer investing your time, focus and energy, on them. Being that who you are not is simply a dream that you are dreaming, such thoughts can only exist as long as you allow them to. Once your focus is placed away from them and towards love, they will simply begin to dissolve back into nothingness. Notice that it is only your focus on the dream, that keeps you dreaming. Once you stop focusing on the dream, it slowly begins to fade away, and it is then that you begin to awaken. Today, let us pay close attention to our thoughts, words and actions. They will help show us when we are awake or still dreaming.

Today, let us note that every time we choose judgment over forgiveness, condemnation over compassion, and anger over understanding, we are choosing the ego’s poison over God’s peace. Today, let us not blame the snake for being a snake, for it knows nothing else. There is no need or reason to judge that part of us that remains asleep. It is only that part of us that is asleep that would ever think of using judgment, anger, anxiety, resentment and hate. Let us also, remembering that we are all One, offer to all others this same type of compassion and understanding. No one’s truth would or could ever judge or hate you, because their truth is only love, and thus can only love. Now know, that when others judge you, it is not the truth in them, but that asleep part of them, that is doing so. No longer waste your time judging those that judge you while they sleep. Today, simply realize what is happening, step around the snake, and continue on your sacred path to peace. You came into this world, not to be the snake, but to be the antidote to the snake’s poison. Darkness and confusion surround those who are poisoning themselves and others. Today, become the representative of light and understanding. Today, simply be who in truth you are, the love and light that you were created to be. Do so, and you will serve as an antidote to the ego’s snake. Do so, and through your loving nature and response, you will remind those who feel bitten by the snake, that the antidote of hope, healing, peace and understanding, are indeed in every moment and interaction, just a simple choice away.

Today, let us pay very close attention to whether we are starving the snake or feeding it — through our thoughts, words and actions. When we align our thoughts, words and actions with Love, we starve the snake. When we align our thoughts, words and actions with judgment and fear, we feed it. We control our thoughts, words and actions. Let us today take greater personal responsibility for where we find ourselves within our hearts and minds. Let us now choose to no longer blame the outer world for our internal condition. To blame the world and those in it for how we feel and conduct ourselves, is to give our power away to them. Instead, let us start taking our power back, by consciously aligning our thoughts with Love, and thus returning to representing our true nature. By doing so we see that the snake was but an imaginary character within the ego’s fairy tale, a false concept that we no longer need to buy into as real or true.
