Lifting Ourselves to a Higher Level of Consciousness

The ideas of coincidence, chance, and luck are all inventions of the ego, used to try to convince us that we have no control over what or how we experience our life. What happens during our day we have consciously or unconsciously brought into our awareness and life in order to help lift us into a higher level of consciousness. Therefore all moments in reality are gifts we are presenting ourselves. Gratitude is thus the logical and natural response to such gifts. For example, when your brother or sister acts out in a manner that the ego has programmed you to think that it is worthy of judgment and thus your loss of peace results, instead remember that you have traveled this dead end illusionary road a thousand times before, you already know where it is taking you. Today instead of judging and losing your peace of mind, truly listen to what you are trying to offer yourself, the opportunity to choose forgiveness and peace in an area of your life that you once thought forgiveness and peace were unattainable. Imagine what a gift each moment can be when you remember that the peace the ego has insisted to you is unattainable can be obtained with just a simple choice. That is the power that truth has over illusion.
