Inspirational Quotes about the Godself

The Godself is the essence of God within you. You are the essence of God physically expressing itself on Earth. The essence of God is love. Love is all you are; it is your true state, your real self. Love is your base, your foundation. People are taught and have the perception that they must build on their foundation. How you choose to build on your foundation is up to you. However, if you simply extend what you are, you will create more beauty than anything that has ever been built. My brother and sister, your base – your Godself – is perfect, and you need not add or subtract anything from perfection.

Regardless of what perception you have of yourself and others, it does not change your foundation or your brother or sister’s foundation. But you have been offered free will, and with that you may choose to see yourself and your brothers and sisters as you wish.inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

My friend, the Godself is within you now. It is that whisper within your heart that is asking to be remembered and expressed. It is the voice that calls for forgiveness when you have judged a brother or sister. It is the memory that recalls the possibility of healing when you feel hurt. It is the opportunity to choose calmness when you are stressed and unity when you have chosen separation. The Godself demonstrates that light is available even when you perceive it too dark to see. It is the invitation to love those others perceive as unlovable, to pray for those you once perceived as not worth your time. My friend, the Godself is the recollection that all you ever wish to be, you already are.inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

Listen, and try to think if you remember what we will speak of now.

Listen – perhaps you catch a hint of an ancient state not quite forgotten; dim, perhaps, and yet not all together unfamiliar, like a song whose name is long forgotten, and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered. Not the whole song has stayed with you, but just a little wisp of melody, attached not to a person or a place or anything particular. But you remember, from just this little part, how lovely was the song, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there and listened with you.

The notes are nothing. Yet you have kept them with you, not for themselves, but as a soft reminder of what would make you weep if you remembered how dear it was to you. You could remember, yet you are afraid, believing you would lose the world you learned since then. And yet you know that nothing in the world you learned is half so dear as this. Listen, and see if you remember an ancient song you knew so long ago and held more dear than any melody you taught yourself to cherish since. (6) inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

Once you recognize your Godself, you will begin to recognize it in all others. You will see in others what they themselves cannot yet see. You will begin to have great respect and love for all your brothers and sisters. For you will recognize the beauty and perfection they have yet to recognize in themselves. You will see in every person’s eyes the perfect manifestation of God on Earth, and you will be thankful for their presence. Every encounter with a brother or sister will become holy, and you will experience every word and action as a gift. You will create heaven on Earth and an absolutely fulfilling life through your simple recognition of your Godself.inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

Instead of reacting to negative emotions or feelings with judgment as the ego has taught us, how would the Godself invite us to react? The Godself would invite each of us to take the following three steps:

  • Bring any negative emotions or feelings to the surface.
  • Release any remorse or guilt that you once chose to believe in these illusions.
  • Release your negative emotions or feeling. Thank them for what they have taught you and let them go. inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

The following quote comes from Anne Frank’s “Diary of a Young Girl.” I use it to end this chapter on forgiveness simply to show the power of the Godself. This young child, living in the most difficult of circumstances, held onto her belief that people are really good at heart. There is also a place within your heart that, when asked, acknowledges this. It is this place that is your foundation. It is this place that whispers throughout eternity that all will be all right. It is this place where you’ll rediscover the freedom forgiveness has to offer.

It’s really a wonder that I haven’t dropped all my ideals, because they seem so absurd and impossible to carry out. Yet I keep them, because in spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. I simply can’t build up my hopes on a foundation consisting of confusion, misery, and death. I see the world gradually being turned into a wilderness; I hear the ever-approaching thunder, which will destroy us too. I can feel the sufferings of millions and yet, if I look up into the heavens, I think that it will all come right, that this cruelty too will end, and that peace and tranquility will return again. In the meantime, I must uphold my ideals, for perhaps the time will come when I shall be able to carry them out. (25) inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

If you will, open your mind and entertain the possibility that it is your mind and not the outside world that needs changing. If the ego accepts this, it would want you to begin this process with the idea that you must improve yourself or become something better in order to have an improved or better life. For a moment, put the ego’s demands aside and simply recognize that this change will not come about by becoming something more or better, but by simply bringing yourself into a closer realignment with who you have always been, your Godself. My friend, you will some day realize that there is nothing easier than being who you truly are. On the deepest level, it is an effortless accomplishment.inspirational quote - end

Inspiring quote

If we truly saw ourselves as whole, we would have no opposite. We call our brother or sister an opposite because we perceive him or her as having something we don’t. We believe that we will find in someone else what is lacking in ourselves. We believe that such an individual will make us complete. We desire completeness, but no one can give us what we already have. Completion is not acquired but realized. If we bring someone into a relationship because we believe he or she will offer us something that we lack, then we will find the relationship lacking. We will find it lacking because no one can fill the empty holes we believe ourselves to have. If we see ourselves as incomplete, as lacking, then we will keep creating areas of lack in our lives that this individual sooner or later will be unable to fill. As he or she becomes unable to fill these areas, we begin to look for someone else who might be more able to fill these new needs. This becomes a downward spiral that can only end when we realize that no one can make us happy and whole other than ourselves.inspirational quote - end
