A limitless well of kindness resides within you. The ego would insist otherwise — that kindness is limited and must be rewarded with gratitude for your well to be refilled. According to the ego, if your kindness is not rewarded, then you are on the losing end of a transaction, a mathematical formula that proves the scarcity of God. But the ego’s world can never take away what has been gifted to you by your Creator. God’s inheritance is yours to keep forever. Being all One, nothing that is divine can be given to one person and withheld from another. Share kindness with any other being, and feel your action refill your well. Share kindness with others, and feel and experience everything you offer to them. It is the experience you offer to them that you get to keep forever.
Today, when others are before us, let us recall that God has placed them there so that we may offer them a drink from our well of kindness. This kindness is an everlasting expression and reflection of the Love that created us. Today, let us notice how kindness expands as it is shared. As we share it, we also get to experience it. By blessing others, we heal and replenish ourself. This reinforces our sense of Oneness. Being all One, as we give, we receive, and the more we give, the more we receive. Understanding this, we dismiss the ego’s delusion of scarcity. Now we no longer need to buy into the false concept that if we give, we lose, or that others must give us something in return for our kindness. Now we know that kindness is its own reward.
