video of James reading with commentary |
Being all One, one of the primary ways to gain self-awareness is to be silent and listen without judgment to what others are saying. Today, pay attention to what you are trying to communicate to yourself through others. Those in front of you are God’s messengers. They have come into your life to help you hear what God has been trying to help you become aware of. They are here to help you hear what your ego has been blocking from your own awareness. For this reason, appreciation is the appropriate response to them. When people help you understand what you have been blocking from your own awareness, isn’t that an act of kindness, in essence a gift that they are offering to you?
Today, practice listening without judgment. Recall that God is Love and All, and thus every interaction is here as a gift from God to you. When you recall this, you become a gift from God to this world. Each person you interact with is here to help you become more self-aware. Because of the ego’s attempt to block this, your higher self has asked the universe for help. God heard your call and asked for volunteers to help you hear what your ego is blocking. The ego will likely continue to try to intervene. It might tell you that what other people are saying is boring, not worth listening to, or just plain wrong. These reactions have nothing to do with them. These reactions are simply signs that the ego is continuing to fight. Today, if the ego tries to block you, smile and recall what is truly going on. Then make the conscious decision to pay special attention to what is being said. Finally, silently offer the messenger your gratitude. When you do, you will see each person that you now meet as a gift from God to you.
All glory to God.
Peace, Health, Happiness, Love, Laughter, and Light.
