It is not what is occurring in the outer world that affects us. It is how we choose to react to what is happening that affect us. We define this world through the thoughts we think. The external world is thus a physical reflection of the thoughts we think. If we choose to love the world, we will experience a more forgiving, peaceful and joyful place. If we choose to battle the world, we will find a more judgmental, confusing, angry and chaotic place. The power to experience the life we want resides within us, not outside of us. The ego tries to get us to judge and blame the outer world for how it “makes” us feel. This way of thinking only gives our power away to the outer world.
